Legoland is ostensibly a place for children, but let’s be honest: even grown-ups love Legos. I suspect that at least half of the people who visit daily are just nerds who borrowed a kid for the day so as not to look totally suspect while oohing and ahhing over the Star Wars Death Star model display.
Not that I would know anything about that.
Ever since The Lego Movie came out, it’s become totally okay for adults to admit to loving Legos. I mean, where else are you going to find a bad-ass lady Lego warrior like Wyldstyle?
Annoyingly, there’s still quite a dearth of lady Legos. Although I did find this nifty Lady Scientist on Amazon:
I’d really like the Lego company to step up their game when it comes to female figures. We’re not all pretty pretty princesses, you know? Seriously, haven’t you dudes heard of kunoichi? Or Kill Bill?
I mean, if you’re gonna make legit Breaking Bad Legos, then let’s get with the program already… Although I guess you could always just custom order your own Lady Ninja army from Minifigs, eh?
But I digress.
If you’re planning on visiting Legoland, know first that the prices ain’t cheap. But if you’ve got a Go San Diego Card, you can get up to 55% off admission.
Next up: plan your visit using their website’s interactive map. There’s lots to see and do within the park, plus you may want to also get access to Sea Life Aquarium and the Legoland Water Park – which may require an additional day.
FYI: Legoland’s Water Park will be closed April 28th to 30th, so be sure to check the website before you go and plan ahead!
Legoland is located at 1 Legoland Drive in Carlsbad.
